Celebrity Big Brother viewers reckon the show might be cursed rafter a host of famous faces from the show have tragically died young.
In recent years Sarah Harding, Jade Goody and rapper Coolio have all sadly lost their lives.
Following the news of the Gangsta's Paradise star's passing this week week, one fan tweeted: “Verne, Coolio, Pete Burns and David Gest, show must have been cursed. Rest in Peace.”
As the music industry is left reeling from the loss of one of its most talented stars, we take a look at some of the Celebrity Big Brother contestants who are sadly no longer with us.
Jade Goody
Mum-of-two Jade was just 27 when she died following a brave battle with cervical cancer.
The former dental nurse received the terminal diagnosis when she was on the Indian version of Celebrity Big Brother, titled Bigg Boss.
The nation fell in love with Jade when she made her debut on the third series of Big Brother, in which she came fourth.
However, her celebrity experience was a bit of a disaster after the star was evicted for racially abusing actress Shilpa Shetty in the 2007 series of Celebrity Big Brother in the UK.
Jade apologised to Shilpa and the public, before taking part in Bigg Boss in 2008.
Sarah Harding
Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding tragically lost her battle with cancer, aged just 39.
The blonde beauty won Celebrity Big Brother in 2017, despite pursuing a rocky relationship with The Bachelor star Chad Johnson in the house.
After leaving the show, Sarah admitted she'd had her doubts about taking part, writing in her autobiography: "When I try to think back about the reasons I agreed to do the show, I guess I thought it could be a good platform for me to get back in the public eye in a positive way.
"Yes, I knew there were going to be a few tricky characters in the house with me – there always were on the show – but I felt I had something to prove, not just to other people but myself but to myself, too."
Coolio
Rapper Coolio, 59, was tragically found dead this week.
The musician, best known for his '90s hit Gangsta's Paradise, died on Wednesday from a suspected cardiac arrest, his manager has said.
No official cause of death has yet been announced.
The star was in the 2009 series of Celebrity Big Brother – with Verne Troyer, who sadly also died – as well as being in Ultimate Big Brother the following year.
Verne Troyer
Verne entered the Big Brother house in 2009 but was best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers series. Verne died in 2018, aged 49, from suicide by alcohol intoxication.
The actor's family issued a statement that said: "Depression and Suicide are very serious issues.
"You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another.
"And always know, it’s never too late to reach out to someone for help."
Dustin Diamond
Dustin Diamond was a star in the CBB house in 2013.
Best known for playing Screech in nineties classic Saved by the Bell, the actor sadly died aged aged 44 in 2021.
Three weeks before, Dustin had been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
His rep confirmed the tragic news in a statement, saying: "We are saddened to confirm of Dustin Diamond’s passing on Monday, February 1st, 2021 due to carcinoma.
"He was diagnosed with this brutal, relentless form of malignant cancer only three weeks ago.
"In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution.
"Dustin did not suffer.
"He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful."
Pete Burns
Dead or Alive star Pete came Pete came fifth place in the 2006 series of CBB.
However, 10 years later the singer suffered a cardiac arrest and sadly died aged 57.
A statement about the singer read: "It is with the greatest sadness that we have to break the tragic news that our beloved Pete Burns of (Dead or Alive), died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest.
"All of his family and friends are devastated by the loss of our special star.
"He was a true visionary, a beautiful talented soul, and he will be missed by all who loved and appreciated everything he was and all of the wonderful memories the has left is with.
"We have no more words, we will make a further statement when we have had a chance to come to terms with our devastating loss.
"He will live forever in our memories."
