Celebrations advent calendar slammed for 'ruining Christmas' with Bounty overload

The Celebrations advent calendar, which typically features a mix of treats - (Celebrations)

Christmas is still weeks away, but for some disappointed Brits the festive season has already been “ruined”.

Ahead of December 1, plenty of us search for the perfect advent calendar but shoppers who plumped for the Celebrations chocolate countdown have shared their disbelief at what was behind the first three windows — the dreaded Bounty.

The Celebrations product typically features a mix of treats including Mars, Milky Way, Galaxy, Maltesers and the coconut-filled Bounty (commonly considered to be the worst of the bunch).

But chocolate fans have this year found no variety at all behind the first three doors, with Bountys awaiting them on December 1, 2, and 3.

Some customers on social media have labelled the situation a “sick joke” while others have quipped they “can’t take much more”.

Celebrations has only added to the frustration by fuelling fears of more Bounty-filled doors over the next three weeks.

The company recently updated its bio on X, stating: "Bounty’s on a quest to capture the hearts of the coconut shy this Christmas — will he win you over? #BringHomeTheBounty."

This has left many fans concerned that Bounty will dominate the calendar, with some fearing a Bounty behind every door.

But others disagree and are finding the situation quite funny.

One user wrote: “Oh my god. Imagine if they are all Bounty. Best prank of all time.”

Mars has not yet responded to the advent calendar furore.
