The legendary musician and one of The Beatles, Sir Paul McCartney is one of Liverpool's greatest sons. Born in Walton in 1942, McCartney formed an unbeatable song-writing collaboration with John Lennon to power The Beatles to becoming one of the greatest bands of all time. He wrote many famous songs including Yesterday, Eleanor Rigby, Blackbird, The Long and Winding Road and Let It Be to name just a few. He was knighted in 1997 and is a two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. He also founded the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
