CeeDee Lamb: Cowboys WR Out For Remainder Of Season

CeeDee Lamb will not play again this season. The Dallas Cowboys are shutting down Lamb for the remainder of the 2024 season, the team announced Thursday.

CeeDee Lamb Out For Remainder Of Season

Lamb will miss the final two games of the regular season due to a shoulder injury.

“Additional examinations and scans this week on CeeDee Lamb’s shoulder have determined that his injury has now progressed to a point that he will be listed as ‘Out’ for the remaining two games of the season,” the Cowboys’ statement reads. “He will undergo a process of treatment and rehabilitation for his shoulder, is not currently expected to require surgery and is projected to make a full recovery.”

Lamb suffered an AC sprain in Week 9’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Lamb is expected to make a full recovery that does not require surgery.

Lamb’s 2024 campaign ends with 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns. It’s Lamb’s third consecutive 100-catch season and his fourth straight 1,000-yard season.

Lamb is the first Cowboy with over 100 catches and 1,000 receiving yards in three straight seasons.

Before the season, Lamb signed a four-year, $136 million contract with $100 million guaranteed. Lamb will be a member of the Cowboys through the 2028 season.

What Will Happen To Mike McCarthy?

With the Cowboys (7-8) eliminated from the postseason, all eyes are now on the status of head coach Mike McCarthy. Will Jerry Jones bring back McCarthy for the 2025 season?

McCarthy is in the final year of his contract. Before this season, McCarthy led the Cowboys to three straight 12-win seasons. The team failed to reach the NFC Championship in all three.

McCarthy entered the season on the hot seat after the Cowboys suffered a disappointing 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers in the previous Wild Card round.

The Cowboys continue to play hard for McCarthy despite being eliminated from the postseason. Dallas has won four of its last five games.

The Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles (12-3) on Sunday, Dec. 29, at 1 p.m. ET.
