Cedric Itten seals Rangers transfer exit as Young Boys switch kickstarts summer overhaul

Rangers have sold Cedric Itten to Young Boys to begin the summer rebuild at Ibrox.

The 25-year-old has struggled to make a consistent impact at Ibrox since joining from St Gallen in the summer of 2020 after his £2.7million move.

He was shipped out on loan to Bundesliga side Greuther Fürth last summer before being recalled by Gio van Bronckhorst for a second look.

He was left behind Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe during the title winning campaign last year, and failed to make a case for a start this term.

Itten was absent from the Europa League squad and did not feature in the end of season run-in with Joe Aribo being preferred up front.

However, he failed to make an impact following his return and now joins Swiss side Young Boys for an undisclosed fee.

He made 55 appearances for Rangers, scoring nine times.
