Kate Ceberano's voice first opened ears around the country almost four decades ago when she toured alongside Australian music icons INXS, Jimmy Barnes and The Divinyls.

Ceberano has since racked up more than 6000 live performances and is preparing to add more when she embarks on her 22-show Australian Made Tour in June.

The rock, jazz and pop singer will perform some of her biggest hits alongside Australian classics from the artists who inspired her work.

Her muses, Ceberano says, include Icehouse, Silverchair, John Farnham, Bernard Fanning, The Church, Renee Geyer and Paul Kelly.

"This is a deep dive into what makes me an Australian artist," she said.

"My hungry heart holding their words to my chest, making them the soundtrack to my life."

Ceberano was 20 years old when she stepped on stage for the original Australian Made Tour in 1986-87 with her band I'm Talking after their debut album went platinum.

Since then, her career has soared, earning her five ARIA awards and induction into the Australian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014.

Audiences can expect to hear backstage stories from many years on the road intertwined with her performance.

"It's so important for me to express my culture, my Australia, in song," Ceberano said.

"This is a love letter to the artists, bands, audiences and storytellers who I've travelled with over this vast continent for four decades."

Producer and guitarist Harts and singer-songwriter Kathleen Halloran will join Ceberano for the tour.
