A robber threatened a member of staff at a jewellery store in Stockport before swiping a necklace worth almost £20,000. The robbery took place at Christopher Brown Jewellers on Merseyway in the town centre in January.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a man came into the shop and asked to look at the necklace, which has been valued at £19,000.
"When staff members showed him the necklace, the offender produced something from his pocket and held it to a staff member’s side, and said: 'Give me the necklace'" PC Hayley Errington-Radcliffe said.

”The offender then snatched the necklace and left the shop through a security door that he had left propped open" she said.
The staff then rang 999. GMP say the suspect was described as being a black male, about 5ft 7in tall, of medium build with a short, trimmed beard.
He was wearing a blue baseball cap and a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers. Witnesses said he may have had one or two gold teeth.
CCTV footage a person the force would like to speak to has been released. Officers are also appealing for anyone else who may be able to help their enquiries regarding the incident at 10:50 on Friday, January 6 this year, to come forward.
"No one was injured but we are appealing for anyone who has information or was in the area at the time to call police on 0161 856 9790" PC Errington-Radcliffe added.
