CCTV released after mountain bike was stolen from Gateshead flats complex

Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a theft in Gateshead.

An investigation was launched by police after a mountain bike was stolen from inside the Baltic Quay flat complex between 11am and 2pm on May 12. Police believe that an offender entered the flat complex and stole a bike that was chained to a cycle rack, before making off.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said that a man has been identified who could have information which could assist with their investigation into the incident.

They said: "Now, as part of their enquiries, officers have identified a man who they would like to trace in connection with the investigation.

"He was seen in the area at the time and could have information that can assist officers."

They urged the man to come forward and for anybody with information with regards to his identity to get in touch with them immediately.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101 quoting crime number 059274D/22. Alternatively, you can email 3938@northumbria.police.uk.
