Three people traced after CCTV released of trip to Scots supermarket

Police have released CCTV images of three people in a Scots town after officers received a report of concern for their welfare.

The images, which show a man, a woman and a teenage girl entering a supermarket on Dundee Road in Arbroath, Angus, were taken today. They bought some groceries and spent around 15 minutes in the store.

When the trio finished shopping, they got into a black car and drove off. Police were then contacted by a member of the public and concerns were raised.

Extensive inquiries have been carried out to identify the three people, however, they have yet to be located.

Inspector Jill Dolan said: "The people may be surprised to see themselves on CCTV and if they do see the images I would ask them to contact us. There were no outward signs of distress from any of the individuals but we received information which we have to respond to.

"If anyone recognises the people in the images or has any information please get in touch.”

On Thursday morning officers issued an update to say the three people had been traced.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Following our earlier appeal about the three people in Arbroath, they have been traced. We’d like to thank everyone who shared our appeal."
