Transport cops probing an assault on an Ayrshire train have released CCTV images of a man they are desperate to trace.
Detectives for British Transport Police are investigating an assault on a ScotRail service from Glasgow Central to Barassie, near Troon.
The incident took place around 7.55pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022, on the 7.30pm service.
A picture of a man who officers are keen to speak has been released.
The man is described as white, aged 50-60 years old, with short brown/ grey hair and unshaven. At the time he was wearing a brown coat, grey hooded jumper, dark blue jeans and brown boots. He also wore a blue and white striped beanie hat.
Officers believe he may hold information to assist to their enquiries.
Detective Constable Martin Graham, of British Transport Police CID said: “I would urge the man pictured or anyone who has any information relating to him, to contact police.
“I would also encourage anyone who may have witnessed or has any further information about this incident to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 2200128141.”
