CCTV footage released in investigation of alleged kidnapping

Police have released CCTV vision and are appealing for public help as investigations continue into the alleged kidnapping and assault of a man on the Central Coast earlier this year.

A 23-year-old was walking near the intersection of Havenview and Hillcrest streets at Terrigal about midnight on February 12 when a black ute stopped beside him and four males exited the vehicle.

The man was allegedly assaulted before he was dragged into the vehicle and threatened with a knife and baton, sustaining a cut to his hand and ear and fractures to his face.

The man was then driven to a car park at Crackneck lookout where the group removed some clothing and jewellery from him, before leaving him on the side of the road.

A short time later, the men returned and further assaulted the alleged victim before he was dropped off near Hillcrest Street.

The alleged victim's family took him to Gosford Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

The incident was reported to police with officers from Brisbane Water Police District began an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV from licensed premises on Terrigal Drive, Terrigal, and would like to speak to a man seen in the vision who may be able to insist with inquries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with short hair, of solid build. He is depicted wearing white sneakers with black shorts and a black t-shirt with a motif on the front and back.

The vehicle depicted is described as a black sedan, possibly a Chrysler.

Anyone with information about the male or vehicle seen in the vision, or with additional CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, is urged to contact police.
