A man is wanted in connection with a brutal assault outside a North Shields gym which a left a man hospitalised.
Officers from Northumbria Police have launched an investigation after it was reported that a man had been assaulted outside a gym on the West Chirton Industrial Estate shortly before 12pm on December 19.
The victim was taken to hospital as a result of the savage attack after suffering from a broken nose and fractures to his vertebrae.

The force has now, as part of their inquiries, released the image of a man who they would like to identify in connection with the incident.
The picture shows a man with a short dark brown beard wearing an Under Armour cap as well as a hooded top.
He was in the area at the time of the incident and could have information that assists the ongoing investigation.
