CCTV appeal after car stolen from outside Newcastle pizza shop

Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they want to speak to as inquiries are carried out into thefts from a Newcastle takeaway.

A jacket containing car keys that belonged to a member of staff at Pizza Base in the city centre was stolen on March 17, with a white Dacia Sandero also being stolen from outside the shop later that night. Northumbria Police has since released an image of a woman who they believe may be able to help with inquiries.

The theft of the jacket happened shortly before 8pm and the car was stolen later that same night. The vehicle was later recovered and returned to the owner.

A statement from Northumbria Police said: "At about 7.45pm on Friday, March 17, it was reported offenders had entered Pizza Base, on Stepney Lane, through a side door and stolen the jacket of a member of staff which had car keys in one of the pockets.

"The offenders left the shop then returned some time later to steal a car, a white Dacia Sandero, from outside the shop and make off from the scene. It was later recovered by officers and returned to the owner. Enquiries have been ongoing since to locate those responsible."
