Week 5 of the 2024 season is right around the corner, and prior to the Denver Broncos’ matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, CBS Sports came out with their weekly quarterback rankings. Spoiler alert: It’s not good at all for Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix.
CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin ranked Nix as the worst quarterback in the league going into this weekend, which was down two spots from his Week 4 ranking.
“He’s 2-2 to start his rookie campaign, but that’s mostly in spite of a wildly erratic passing performance,” Benjamin wrote in his analysis. “His mobility has come in handy in avoiding sacks for consecutive games, though.”
After back-to-back 200-plus yard passing performances, Nix had a career-low 60 passing yards in less-than-ideal conditions against the New York Jets in Week 4.
Nix became the first Broncos quarterback was the first Denver quarterback since 2016 to go back-to-back games without a sack, which is a testament to the mobility Benjamin referenced.
Nix will have perfect conditions for Sunday’s game in his AFC West debut, so hopefully he can put on a show against the Raiders.
