The Atlanta Falcons hold the No. 8 overall pick in the draft for the second year in a row. Back in 2022, the team selected wide receiver Drake London and filled one of its biggest needs.
Since the Falcons have addressed the majority of their needs in free agency, there’s even more uncertainty surrounding what the team will do in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. Many still feel an edge rusher or interior offensive lineman make the most sense, but there’s no telling who the team will target.
CBS Sports released a new seven-round mock draft that has Atlanta taking one of the most talented overall prospects in Texas running back Bijan Robinson. The Longhorns star is the highest-rated ball carrier in the class and someone who would instantly upgrade any team’s backfield.
The appeal for Robinson is there as his presence would create a dynamic trio of backs for Atlanta. Cordarrelle Patterson, Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson would give the Falcons arguably the best stable of running backs in the NFL.
Not to mention, it would lessen the workload of all three ball carriers. Here’s a look at the rest of Atlanta’s projected picks in CBS Sports’ mock draft.
