CBS broadcaster Andrew Catalon had the perfect call of Fairleigh Dickinson’s Purdue upset

History was made on Friday night as No. 16 Fairleigh Dickinson pulled off the unfathomable upset over No. 1 Purdue in the 2023 NCAA men’s tournament.

The Knights’ 63-58 victory over the Boilermakers is only the second-ever time a No. 16 seed has taken down a No. 1 seed in the NCAA men’s tournament.

Fairleigh Dickinson joins University of Maryland, Baltimore County as the two No. 16 seeds in NCAA men’s tournament history to defeat a No. 1 seed.

CBS broadcaster Andrew Catalon marked the occasion with the absolutely perfect call to announce Fairleigh Dickinson’s monumental upset.

“FDU believe it?” Catalon exclaimed on the game broadcast, which will now go down in March Madness history.

You can also hear the call of the pivotal Sean Moore 3-pointer for Fairleigh Dickinson that helped widen the team’s final margin for victory.

College basketball fans will be talking about what Fairleigh Dickinson has accomplished for years, and Andrew Catalon’s pitch-perfect call of the seismic win will forever follow this historic moment.
