CBeebies have invited George Webster to guest present on the children's TV channel.
The news was announced on Monday via the CBeebies Grown-Ups Twitter account - which is a social platform for parents whose children are fans of the channel.
A clip of George accepting the job - who has Down's Syndrome - was posted on the micro-blogging site, alongside a message reading: "EXCITING NEWS our NEW CBeebies House presenter, George will be starting soon! He loves cooking and dancing, and he can't wait to be your friend."
George, 20, is a Mencap Ambassador and featured in a BBC Bitesize video Five myths about Down's Syndrome earlier this year.
The video showed him telling the camera: "I'm George, I'm 20 years old and I have Down's Syndrome.
"I call myself George because that's who I am. Not Down's George."
He added: "I have an amazing life."
Sharing on his new role, George said: "I am so proud and I'm feeling so excited to start."
Several parents shared their joy for the new CBeebies recruit on Twitter.
One wrote: "Go George!!! we are so excited yo see you."
Another added: "Wonderful to have diversity on tv aimed at the next generation. As a mum of disabled children (teenagers now) this is so important to include everyone and produce acceptance of all."

A third echoed: "Absolutely brilliant addition. George you have made me smile with your presenting skills and enthusiasm. Kids and adults will love you. Wishing you every success."
"This is wonderful. Well done George. You must have been really impressive for them to offer you the opportunity. So be really proud of yourself. You look like you're great fun, and will be a credit to the team," typed a fourth.
A fifth typed: "I’ve seen George before! He did a ‘myths about Down’s Syndrome’ video for BBC I think? I remember watching it and finding him so smiley and likeable, so this is great to see! As an autistic parent, I can’t praise CBeebies enough for your work for diversity and representation. George was a natural when he filmed a BBC video dispelling myths about Down's Syndrome."
