Lauren Harries has admitted she could have died after she was rushed to hospital for emergency brain surgery.
The Celebrity Big Brother star, 45, is now in recovery following the scary incident on Friday, with the cause still unknown.
Lauren's mum Katy took to her Twitter account to share the news the star is doing well, but could have died.
Doctors had to perform Lauren's "worst nightmare" by shaving her hair off to do the operation.
The TV star still managed to show a smile as she was pictured bandaged up in the hospital bed.
"Lauren has woken up after her brain surgery. They had to shave her hair. As you know this is Lauren's worst nightmare but she would have died if not.
"The amazing staff in the Heath Hospital have been wonderful. Thank you for your kind words, her recovery ahead. Update to follow," Katy wrote on Lauren's account.
Fans offered their support to the media personality, hoping she gets better soon.
"Wishing you a speed recovery xx," one fan wrote
"Sending you Lots of Love and hope for a speedy recovery. Take care," added another fan.
Another added: "All best wishes to you."
Lauren found fame as a child antiques expert called James, who appeared on the Antiques Roadshow and Wogan, before undergoing gender reassignment surgery in 2001.
After a gap from the spotlight she reemerged as Lauren to star on Channel 5 series Trust Me – I’m A Beauty Therapist and then, in 2013, starred on Celebrity Big Brother on the same channel.
Lauren ran into trouble on day eight when she attempted to share some of her meds with fellow contestant, Courtney Stodden.
Despite a ticking off from Big Brother and receiving a warning, she finished third in the competition, with Charlotte Crosby taking the top spot.
Last year, the TV star encouraged her followers to head over to Only Fans after she joined the X rated site.
Lauren shared some boudoir shots with her appearing in a open-bloused nurse's outfit complete with white stockings and high heels.
