CB Jeff Okudah will miss the Thanksgiving game against the Bills

The Detroit Lions are flying high after three wins in a row, but the injury bug remains a real thorn in the team’s paw. Top cornerback Jeff Okudah will miss at least the next Lions game after suffering a concussion in Sunday’s 31-18 win over the Giants in New York.

Okudah left the game in the first half after being involved in a collision with a teammate in pass coverage. He was quickly taken from the evaluation tent into the locker room and ruled out by the independent neurologist on site with a brain injury.

After the game, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked about Okudah’s status. Campbell delivered the bad news for the corner’s availability on Thanksgiving against the Buffalo Bills.

“I don’t think there’s any way possible,” Campbell told reporters. He noted the timeframe involved in clearing the protocol effectively rules out Okudah.

The Lions get extra rest after Thursday’s game, which could give Okudah a chance to return in Week 13 against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Ford Field.
