Clutch City sports fans may be pointing fingers throughout the Houston Texans to determine who is at fault for the team’s 1-8-1 record after 10 games.
However, the locker room has yet to experience such division, according to cornerback Desmond King.
The former 2018 All-Pro told reporters Tuesday that the mood in the locker room is “still the same” despite Houston enduring a five-game losing streak and dropping a 23-10 home contest to Washington.
“We’re a family and we know this is not the path that we want to go down right now,” said King. “We just got to find a way. Got to find a way to pull it together. Got to stay together. Can’t let this separate the locker room or the team, so that our goal right now, kind of regroup and go on to the next game. Go in with the same focus as next week.”
While the Texans still have a modicum of cohesion in the locker room, King, 27, knows the morale could spoil if the team doesn’t start adding to the win column.
“Before anything, we don’t want this to be a distraction to what we’re trying to build,” said King. “I think right now we just have to find a way and stay together.”
The Texans take on the Miami Dolphins Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Central Time at Hard Rock Stadium.
