CB Arthur Maulet agrees to terms on 2-year contract with Steelers

According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers and soon-to-be free agent Arthur Maulet have agreed to terms on a two-year contract to keep Maulet from hitting free agency.

Maulet was a solid free-agent addition for Pittsburgh last season. In addition to being a regular on special teams, Maulet played 32.5 percent of the defensive snaps. He alternated between cornerback and safety depending on the situation.

On the season, Maulet had 47 total tackles and no interceptions. Pittsburgh still has two starting cornerbacks unsigned in Joe Haden and Ahkello Witherspoon. Locking up Maulet at least assures some continuity in the defensive secondary for the upcoming season.
