Two Ulster rivals go head-to-head in round five of the Allianz Football League as Cavan host Down in a game with serious ramifications in the race for promotion from Division Three.
The Breffnimen are one of only three undefeated teams in Ireland along with Derry and Dublin and another victory on Sunday would leave them on the cusp of securing promotion with two games remaining.
Down’s campaign has been as straightforward as they got out of jail against Antrim in round two before being caught by a Sean Quigley sucker-punch in Ederney in round three.
Conor Laverty’s side returned to winning ways after coming from behind to defeat Westmeath last weekend and a win over Cavan would be a significant boost to their chances of a swift return to Division Two.
