The cause of death of Arizona news anchor Ana Orsini, who passed away at the age of 28, has been revealed.
The news of her death were shared during the December 16 evening broadcast of KOLD-TV, where Orsini worked as an anchor. According to her coworkers, the young journalist passed away late last week.
Overcome with emotion, they paid tribute to Orsini, remembering her as an integral part of their news team.
"We had the opportunity to work with her every day, and we do want you to know that what you saw with her on air, the funny, crazy person she was, she was just like that off-camera, and more so." said anchor Tyler Butler during the announcement.
While the cause of Orsini's death was not disclosed on air at that moment, the station later put out an article on their website stating that she passed away from a brain aneurysm.
Orsini joined KOLD-TV, a CBS affiliate, in 2023, but her journalism career began in 2018 after graduating from Texas A&M University. Her first job was as a reporter in Lubbock, Texas.
Her dedication and talent led her to NewsWatch 12, where she worked for three years before joining KOLD-TV in June 2023.
Many of her colleagues described Orsini as deeply family-oriented, noting it was a cornerstone in her life. She once shared a photo of a tattoo on her arm, featuring a fragment of a birthday letter her parents had written to her.
"Ana's family was everything to her. She was a proud daughter, a loving sister, and the best dog mom to her baby boy Harley," said Currier.
KOLD News 13 also honored her memory on social media with a compilation of special moments she shared with the team.
In their article, the station included a statement from Orsini's family requesting privacy and that "they want Ana to be remembered for the bright, sunny person she was. If you would like to do something in Ana's memory, please donate to your local animal shelter – Ana never met a dog she didn't love!"
