Geelong coach Chris Scott has worded up his players on the AFL's plans to cope with a ground invasion if Sydney superstar Lance Franklin kicks his 1000th career goal on Friday night.
Franklin requires just four majors to become the sixth player in league history to reach the mark.
The AFL is bracing for celebrating fans to storm the field if he gets there at the SCG and is prepared for a break in play of up to 20 minutes.
Both teams would likely leave the playing arena while ground staff clear the traffic.
Scott hopes his Cats can limit Franklin's damage after the champion forward was held to one goal by GWS defender Phil Davis in round one.
But the 2011 premiership coach is prepared for a variety of scenarios put forward by the league around the possibility of Franklin's milestone holding up proceedings.
"We understand what our reaction is going to be," Scott told reporters on Wednesday.
"We made the point, maybe a little humorously, but we've dealt with a bit of uncertainty over the last two years and this is pretty minor in comparison to that.
"It's a good-news story, too, so we don't want to be the ones complaining about a little bit of difficulty and spoiling the moment.
"He's just been a champion of our game and I don't even know what I think about the crowd going on the field ... I guess I think it's a good thing. Just don't slip over."
GWS coach Leon Cameron admitted his side might have been too conscious of Franklin in round one, allowing the likes of Luke Parker and Isaac Heeney to hurt them around goal.
But Franklin is not the only Swans star occupying Scott's thoughts this week.
"We'll certainly prioritise Lance, we owe him that respect, but Heeney and Parker are super players and it's impossible for them to sneak up on us," Scott said.
"It's not impossible for them to play well against us, they're just really good players, but it won't be because they surprised us.
"I understand the logic that if you focus too much on a gun then others can bob up - it's sort of what we're trying to do at the other end as well - but they present multiple threats, the Swans."
Scott has had to reshuffle his defence, with young tall Sam De Koning ruled out because of concussion and Jed Bews cleared to play after missing round one through concussion protocols.
Mitch Duncan will return from a calf injury, while spearhead Jeremy Cameron is considered "likely" to play despite a hip pointer injury suffered in a heavy collision during last week's thrashing of Essendon.
