Catherine Tyldesley pictured after saying she has 'long way to go' with post-baby weight

Catherine Tyldesley stunned in a summer dress after telling fans she was trying to lose her post-baby weight.

The former Corrie actress, 38, gave birth to her second child Iris Ella in April.

She's been candid about her figure since the tot's arrival, but looked blooming gorgeous in Manchester today.

Rocking up at a press event for her new stage gig Cluedo, Cath sported a gorgeous yellow gingham dress.

The actress teamed the look with white wedges, tortoiseshell glasses and slick of obligatory nude lipstick.

Catherine, who also has a son, Alfie, seven, opened up on Monday about how she was losing her current baby weight.

Speaking on her Instagram Stories, she mused: 'I think the best way to look at it, for me, it's not about weight loss anymore, it's about getting strong again, being healthy, being on the planet for as long as possible."

However when asked directly how she lost her baby weight 'so quick' she insisted: "I haven't! Still got a long way to go! But focusing on building my strength back up!."

The actress is breastfeeding her daughter, but admitted she was a initially a bit nervous about doing it in public.

"I felt really self conscious this time around because my boobs were like comedy boobs when my milk came in," she explained.

"I got really stressed out faffing around with muslin cloths trying to hide what I was doing. And in the end I was like' no babes', so I just started whapping them out and cracking on."

Catherine is married to Tom Pitfield and recently spoke about how the couple came up with their daughter's name.

She explained to Hello! magazine that she played a character called Iris Moss in the BBC drama Lilies in 2007 and she had “loved it ever since”.

Iris' middle name is Ella - which is a tribute to her husband's late grandmother.

Big brother Alfie is said to be delighted with the new arrival, with Catherine telling her followers, he 'adores' her.

A few days after giving birth to Iris, the actress shared the exciting news of her arrival with fans, writing: "We are so happy to announce that our beautiful daughter has arrived.

"We are grateful beyond words and feel overjoyed that our family is complete."
