Catherine Tate’s real name, famous exes and high-profile TV and film roles

Ever since the early Noughties, comedy star Catherine Tate has been a regular face on our screens. From her own critically-acclaimed sketch show to an iconic stint as Donna Noble in Doctor Who, the 53-year-old has done it all.

On Friday, June 16 Catherine’s new show Queen of Oz dropped on BBC iPlayer and it will also be screened Fridays for six weeks on BBC1. The six-episode series, which she also wrote, tells the story of Princess Georgiana, a disgraced member of a fictional British Royal Family sent to rule Australia. Robert Coleby, Niky Wardley and Anthony Brandon Wong are among the rest of the cast.

Queen of Oz wasn’t always supposed to be set in Australia, though. The original plan was for it to be set in Canada but Catherine changed the location after touring in Oz in 2018.
