A free shuttle bus service will be laid on for revellers heading home from Doonfest this weekend.
Stagecoach West Scotland is providing their very own ‘Doonfest Express’ to festival goers heading home after a night of music entertainment.
Services will pick up from Main Street, Dalrymple, at 11pm close to the site entrance and drop off in Ayr Town Centre on Friday, July 7 and Saturday, July 8.
Pre-booking is essential via doonfest.org/getting-to-doonfest, only those with valid tickets will be able to use the shuttle service and can be picked up on the day of arrival.
Fiona Doherty, managing director of Stagecoach West Scotland said: “We are excited to be part of Doonfest this year, our free shuttle service will ensure festival goers can get home safely to Ayr after the gig.
“We expect the shuttle to be extremely popular and encourage anyone wanting to secure a seat to book quickly via the Doonfest official website. We hope everyone has a fantastic time!”
Organisers behind the popular village festival have announced a cracking line-up- as the countdown begins to this year’s showpiece.
Councillor Jennifer Hogg, chair of DaSH (the Dalrymple, Skeldon and Hollybush Project) and Doonfest, said: “We have a stellar line-up for evening concerts as well as brilliant workshops- from international to national performers to the future performers- it’s all here!”
Starting on Friday, July 7, Tom McGuire and The Brassholes will take centre stage on what is sure to be another unforgettable night of music.
There will be three support acts on Friday too.
And there’s free family fun on Saturday, July 8, between 12noon and 6pm, with a number of attractions.
You can check out some birds of prey, there’s a climbing tower, Alpaca petting area, axe throwing and plenty of craft stalls.
On Saturday evening, winner of The Voice 2021, Craig Eddie, will perform some top tunes, as will Mànran, along with four supporting acts.
There’s a beer tent, open mic session and, of course, plenty of opportunities to dance the night away.
For those who plan to stay overnight, camping pitches start at £5.
