Cat Deeley is making the most of some well-earned time off, soaking up the sun with her family while stepping back from her This Morning duties. The 48-year-old presenter has jetted off for a break with husband Patrick Kielty and their two sons, Milo and James – and she’s got the Insta snaps to prove it.
Cat looked effortlessly stylish in a black swimsuit and sunnies, paddleboarding with her eldest son, Milo, who’s now eight. With her hair casually tied up and the sea stretching behind her, she gave fans a glimpse of her off-duty, family-first vibe. In another sweet photo, Patrick – dressed in a bucket hat and beach shorts – is spotted on an “ice cream run” with their five-year-old, James, capturing the kind of candid family moments we all love to see.
While Cat is enjoying her sun-soaked escape, things have been a little different back on the This Morning sofa. Dermot O’Leary and Sian Welby have stepped in to cover her and co-host Ben Shephard, with mixed reactions from viewers. The show’s Instagram account dropped a teaser over the weekend with Sian saying, “We’re back together on Monday, I love this!” and Dermot adding, “For a whole week.” Some fans were buzzing to see the pair reunited, calling their energy a win. But not everyone was on board – one viewer didn’t hold back, commenting: “Bring back Cat and Ben. All is forgiven!”

Cat and Patrick go way back, having met in 2002 when they were both presenting Fame Academy. Things stayed professional at first, but their friendship gradually turned romantic. They kept things under wraps for a while before Patrick confirmed their relationship in 2012. The couple tied the knot later that same year in a secret ceremony in Rome, held at St Isidore’s Church – a quiet Irish church near the Vatican – with just close friends and family in attendance.
Since then, they’ve built a life together, balancing their careers and raising their two boys. Patrick, who currently hosts The Late Late Show in Ireland, is often travelling for work, while Cat’s plate is full with her presenting role in the UK.
A source told OK!: “They are a really strong couple and have been through a lot together. They’ve navigated their busy careers and the challenges of raising children with grace. They’re determined to make the relationship work.” For now, Cat’s enjoying the sunshine – but judging by the fan comments, her return to This Morning can’t come soon enough.
