Charlotte Caslick's SuperW debut has ended in defeat after the NSW Waratahs posted a 36-14 win over the Queensland Reds.

The Reds scored the first try of Sunday's match via Kahli Henwood, but the Waratahs took control in the second half to run away with the six-tries-to-two victory.

Hooker Adiana Talakai and winger Maya Stewart scored two tries apiece for the Waratahs.

The bonus-point win lifted NSW (10 points) to the top of the table after three rounds, while the Reds (four points) are third but have one game in hand.

Caslick is a Rugby Sevens star for Australia, but she has committed to the 15-a-side game ahead of this year's World Cup.

The 30-year-old came off the bench in the 53rd minute on Sunday, but her efforts weren't enough to drag Queensland back into the match.

"It's disappointing not to come away with the win for the girls," Caslick told Stan.

"But for myself personally, it was great to get my first hitout, to see what it's like out there.

"It was a really fun experience. The support I've received has been absolutely amazing.

"I'm really grateful that everyone is pushing me on this journey and hoping that I make it to my final goal of a Wallaroos jersey."

NSW captain Georgina Friedrichs was happy with the way her team defended against Reds star Teagan Levi, who has also crossed from the Sevens program.

"She's a world-class football player, so it was a good match-up against her," the outside centre said.

"Defence, attack, I think we marked up pretty well on her, and we kept her pretty much well contained."

The Reds were outpointed in the set piece battle in what proved a major difference between the two sides.

"Disappointing result," Reds captain Jemma Bemrose said.

"We'll go back to the drawing board next week with our set piece and keep working on it.

"But I can't fault the effort."
