Cash was stolen from a Co-op food shop after two men described as "suspicious" were seen lingering outside with a crowbar.
Police were called to Liverpool Road in Widnes at 11.43am on Wednesday, February 15, following a suspected burglary at the Co-operative Food store. The caller reported that two men were acting suspiciously outside the shop and "possibly" had a crowbar.
Both men were described as being of medium build, around 5’ 8” and were both were wearing dark clothing. Officers attended the scene and there was no trace of the men.

However, police discovered there had been a burglary at the store and a small amount of cash was stolen. Officers are now appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant Lee Connor said: “While our enquiries into this burglary are currently ongoing, I am appealing to anyone who has information to please contact us.
“If you were in the area at the time or have any CCTV or dash cam footage, please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
