Cash reward offered for return of Co Antrim dog Roxy

The family of a dog missing from their Co Antrim home has offered a substantial cash reward for her safe return.

Roxy the Boxer vanished on March 6 and her owner Heather Millar says her family have searched far and wide for their pet without any luck.

Heather said: "We just can't rest until we know where she is or what has happened to her.

"Roxy is a beautiful Boxer and she was brought into our home as another family member, more than just what some people assume a dog should be.

"I was in the house and she was in the garden Rathkeel Rd on March 6 and I had my eyes on her, but went out to called her in, she'd gone. I went out to find her in case she'd got onto the road. Normally she just sniffed about the field in front of our house but there was no sign of her.

"Since then we've looked day and night for her. I'm asking for help. Our home is miserable without her. We're just heartbroken.

"I'm worried she got out in the moment I didn't have eyes on her and maybe she got lifted. She was in heat and I know dogs can act a bit differently when they're in heat but just vanish seems unlikely.

"We'd been advised to allow Roxy to have her heat before we had her spayed because she's a big dog and the vet wanted her to finish growing first.

"She was never one to wander off. She loves her home comforts and spent most of her time indoors with me so not only has she gone, she hasn't made her way back. None of it makes any sense."

Heather has searched her neighbourhood repeatedly and is asking the public around Broughshane and beyond to check their outhouses and sheds and anywhere she may have been trapped or could be hiding.

She said: "It's like she just vanished off the face of the earth, we have searched day and night since and we've shared our posts on social media, we've put up posters, we have personally called at houses. We've asked farmers if they have seen her. If she has got into trouble we'd rather just know.

"Roxy is a big dog but a gentle dog and she's on my mind all the time. if you have her, we just want her home. We won't ask any questions, we are offering a reward for her safe return. Please just help us bring our girl home. We can't give up until we find out where she is."
