Volunteers within the Gilmour and Whitehill Parish Church in Hamilton have received an end of year cash boost courtesy of a Lanarkshire supermarket.
Café volunteers within the church are delighted to have been given a cheque for £2000 from Asda Hamilton superstore.
Their successful application to the Asda Foundation earlier this year will now enable them to continue to run their free community café, warm bank and provide emergency food provision to those within their local area.
Asda Hamilton community champion, Gillian Summers, told Lanarkshire Live : "This fantastic group of volunteers work so hard for their community and none of the services they offer from Gilmour and Whitehill Parish Church would be able to happen these volunteers.
"They should be commended on the hard work they are doing to support others in the area the community, especially just now when more and more people are struggling."
A spokesman for the church said: "We are very grateful to Asda Hamilton and to Gillian for pointing us in the direction of the cost of living grants."
