Cash App mogul Bob Lee's final few words before collapsing in street after fatal stabbing

Moments after tech mogul Bob Lee was fatally stabbed he shouted into his phone: "Help! Someone stabbed me", according to CCTV footage of the scene.

The tech executive was seen walking the streets holding onto his wound as he bled onto the sidewalk.

Police were called by 43-year-old Mr Lee after being stabbed shortly before 2.30am on April 4 in the Rincon Hill neighbourhood of San Francisco, California, US.

His last words to 911 were caught on surveillance footage and seen by local SF paper The Standard.

He was rushed to hospital, but sadly sucumbed to his injuries.

After he had been stabbed, CCTV footage showed Lee walking through the city's deserted street, at one point lifting his shirt to show his wound to a driver sitting in a parked car.

Mr Lee collapsed after the driver drove off. He got back up before limping onwards, and then fell again for the last time. He was unconscious when the police found him.

Workers were seen cleaning what is believed to be blood off the walls of a building near to where a mortally wounded Mr Lee walked.

In the latest update from the San Francisco Police Department, Police Chief Bill Scott said: “This investigation is still in the early stages. Because of this, we are not commenting on evidence, nor will we speculate on the circumstances surrounding this horrific crime.

"Although we will commit the necessary resources and personnel to this investigation, I want to assure everyone in San Francisco that our department is staffed and ready to respond to all calls for service."

No arrests have been made.

Friend of Lee, former MMA fighter Jake Shields remembers him as a "loyal friend" and claimed that the tech entrepreneur was killed in a "random mugging and attack".

Lee had reportedly returned to San Francisco from Miami for a “quick visit” and stayed an extra day, friends have said.

Dad Rick Lee confirmed his son Bob had been killed in a post on Facebook.

He wrote: "Bob would give you the shirt off his back.

"He would never look down on anyone and adhered to a strict no-judgement philosophy.

"Bobby worked harder than anyone and was the smartest person I have ever known. He will be missed by all those that knew him. Thank you to those who have reached out in support. "

The tech chief was known affectionally as "Crazy Bob" and helped launch the Cash App, which has tens of millions of users in the US and the UK.

He was also the chief product officer of San Francisco-based cryptocurrency startup MobileCoin and an investor in SpaceX, Clubhouse and Figma.

Mr Lee had been a part of the Bay Area software development community for a long time and had recently moved to Miami.
