Cash and property worth tens of thousands of pounds stolen from Dumfries house

Cash and property worth tens of thousands of pounds has been stolen from a house in Dumfries.

Police are investigating the break-in at a home in the Nithbank area of Craigs Road in the town which happened between April 5 and April 20. A substantial amount of cash, jewellery and ornaments were taken in the raid.

According to police the thieves escaped with money and goods worth “tens of thousands of pounds”.

DC Chris Trosh, the officer leading the investigation, said: “Enquiries are ongoing in relation to this theft that occurred sometime between April 5 and April 20.

“We are keen to speak with anyone who has been in the area between these dates and may have seen anything suspicious in and around the Nithbank.

“If you have any information that may assist us can you please call 101 quoting reference number PDG0083610422.

“Alternatively anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800555111.”
