Manchester United are now set to unveil Casemiro before Monday night's clash against Liverpool after reports that issues with his visa would prevent the plan from happening.
The club had always hoped to present Casemiro to their fans at Old Trafford on Monday night after agreeing a £60million deal in principle with Real Madrid to sign the 30-year-old midfielder. However, The Athletic claimed on Saturday that the club had not yet acquired a visa for Casemiro and he would not be present for the match against Jurgen Klopp's side.
However, it appears that late snag has now been overcome. The Athletic now report that Casemiro will be unveiled prior to the Liverpool clash at Old Trafford in scenes set to mirror Raphael Varane's arrival last summer. It is hoped Casemiro's presence will provide a boost after overcoming the late snag to make it happen.
United fans will have to wait at least until next weekend's trip to Southampton to get their first glimpse of Casemiro, who has been signed to try and solve Manchester United's long-standing midfield issues, in action.
After chasing a deal for Barcelona playmaker Frenkie de Jong all summer, Ten Hag turned to Casemiro this week in the wake of United's disastrous start to the season.
Scott McTominay and Fred have left the Dutchman underwhelmed with their performances in humbling defeats against Brighton and Brentford - results that have left United rock bottom of the Premier League.
But it's hoped that the acquisition of Casemiro - a five-time Champions League winner who has played a pivotal role in Real Madrid's continued success over the past nine years - can spark an instant improvement for United, who will be expecting the veteran enforcer to bring some much needed balance to Ten Hag's malfunctioning engine room.

However, Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney has questioned whether Casemiro is the type of midfielder the club actually need. The club's all-time leading goalscorer believes that Ten Hag and United have shown that their transfer approach is "reactive" rather than proactive by agreeing to shell out big bucks on the former Sao Paulo man.
Writing in The Times, Rooney said: "This goes back to the need to look to the future. Ideally, they should be signing players in their early to mid-twenties, and Casemiro is similar to Christian Eriksen — someone who has been a good player, but are they going to help the club move forward? Frenkie de Jong, Ten Hag’s principal midfield target, would be a better fit.
"The Casemiro deal seems to have come from nowhere, and looks a reactive signing — I’d be surprised if he was a player identified as a priority to bring in when ten Hag arrived. It looks like, having been unable to sign de Jong, United just reacted to Casemiro being available."
