Casemiro praised by three Manchester United teammates after Wolves win

Antony, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia all singled out Manchester United teammate Casemiro for praise following the New Year's Eve victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 30-year-old began life at Old Trafford out of the first team but soon managed to integrate himself as a key player following his transfer from Real Madrid. After successful individual performances at the World Cup, Casemiro returned as a man in-form and has even showed that there is more to his game than just playing defensive midfield.

In the Carabao Cup against Burnley, the Brazilian filled in at centre-back due to the Reds struggling with defensive absentees. With Shaw moving into that gap against Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Casemiro was able to continue shining in midfield.

Running the show against the two relegation threatened sides, Casemiro showed how crucial he now is to the Old Trafford outfit. His fan favourite status at United has earned him plenty of praise from outsiders and that love is also being shared by a trio of his teammates at the Theatre of Dreams.

On New Year's Day, Casemiro posted a picture of himself celebrating victory at Molineux to Instagram with the caption: "A good way to end the year." Quick to shower their teammate with the praise he deserves, Antony replied: "You are badass brother."

Shaw added: "What a player," and Malacia responded with three fire emojis. Games for Casemiro and co keep coming thick and fast in 2023, beginning tomorrow when they host AFC Bournemouth.

On Friday, the Reds will then welcome Everton to the Theatre of Dreams in the FA Cup third round before hosting League One side Charlton Athletic in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, next Tuesday. Erik ten Hag's men will begin 2023 in the top four, two points behind Newcastle United who have played a game more.
