Casemiro makes Manchester United demand as he reflects on first season at the club

Casemiro has taken to Instagram to thank Manchester United's fans for the support he has been shown during his first season at the club, adding that 'the glory days must return' to Old Trafford.

The Brazilian midfielder joined the Reds from Real Madrid in the summer and has been one of Erik ten Hag's standout performers across the 2022/23 campaign.

United claimed Carabao Cup glory in February and followed that up with a third-place finish in the Premier League, ensuring qualification to next season's Champions League.

Having made 53 appearances in all competitions, the United midfielder found the net seven times, whilst also registering seven assists in his maiden campaign in England's top flight.

''Thank you all for this first great season and above all for your love towards my family and towards me,'' the 31-year-old wrote on Instagram.

''I feel at home. I read you and I hear everyone say that Manchester United is back, but this is only the beginning of our journey.

''The greatness of this club and this shield must force us to demand more of ourselves. Much more. Here defeat is not acceptable and the glory days must return. For that I have come. Come on United!!''
