Manchester United have made Harry Kane their number one transfer target this summer in a plan inspired by Casemiro’s leaked text messages ahead of his switch last summer.
United boss Erik ten Hag is on red alert as he searches for the final piece of the jigsaw at Old Trafford and he has decided England’s skipper is that man. The Spurs’ striker will be on the market after yet another campaign of disappointment with the north Londoners.
Casemiro joined United in a £70million deal that week as he ended a trophy-laden nine years in the Spanish capital – where he won five Champions League crowns at the base of a midfield alongside Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. The trio formed a formidable partnership that largely dominated Europe, but ahead of his move to United - Casemiro watched the side's four-goal capitulation at Brentford, and told his agent to inform the club he "could fix it" for them.
As exclusively reported by Mirror Football , United have been inspired by the success of Casemiro’s move last summer. The Brazilian was aged 30 when he completed his move to Old Trafford last year – while Kane will celebrate his 30th birthday in July.
Casemiro has proven to be a catalyst in United's upturn in form this seasons – they are third in the Premier League, into the FA Cup quarter finals, remain strongly placed in the Europa League and won the EFL Cup, their first piece of silverware in six seasons.
Signing Casemiro has proven to be inspired with the Brazilian starring for United this campaign - adding balance, control and structure to a team that desperately needed such attributes. He is likely to be a contender for the Player of the Year award in the Premier League.

United are prioritising the signing of a central striker this summer. Wout Weghorst's loan deal from Burnley expires at the end of the campaign and Anthony Martial is expected to depart Old Trafford following another injury-blighted season.
That leaves Marcus Rashford as the club’s only recognised senior striker and the in-form England international prefers playing on the left side of an attack than centrally. Kane would be an ideal fit for this United side and would fill a key position in which they are currently short.
United also hold great admiration for Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos and Mohammed Kudus, whom Ten Hag coached at Ajax. Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is thought to be a key target this summer, but the Nigerian’s price tag may prove excessive.
Kane, for his part, has yet to win a major trophy in his senior career and is out of contract at Spurs in 2024 – making a move away this summer conceivable for all parties.
