Casemiro and Marcus Rashford send messages to Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes

Marcus Rashford and Casemiro were keen to praise Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes after the Portuguese ace registered two assists against Leicester City on Sunday.

Fernandes was instrumental at Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag's side secured a 3-0 victory over the Foxes thanks to goals from Rashford and Jadon Sancho. The home side were disappointing in the first half as David de Gea was forced to make some great saves, but the Reds were deserving of the win in the end.

United, who registered their ninth home league win in 12 this term with the win over Brendan Rodgers' side, currently sit seven points clear of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League table. Moreover, Ten Hag's men are just three points behind rivals Manchester City.

Fernandes has now registered five goals and six assists in 23 league appearances this season, with Kevin De Bruyne (12), Bukayo Saka (8) and Eriksen (7) the only players ahead of him in the Premier League assists standings. This campaign, six of his assists have been for Rashford - and the England ace is grateful for the help in front of goal.

After the win over Leicester, Fernandes posted three photos of himself in action during the clash, alongside the caption: "A very good afternoon at Old Trafford and we just have to continue in this way."

Rashford commented on the post, replying: "Keep them assists coming."

United midfielder Casemiro was also quick to respond and praise Fernandes for his consistency, writing, "You play a lot my bro," alongside a star-eyed emoji. Sancho, meanwhile, wrote: "Brother."

De Gea's response was short and simple, with the Spanish goalkeeper responding with a magician emoji. Elsewhere, Tyrell Malacia commented with a fire emoji.

Fernandes praised teammates De Gea and Rashford for their contributions in Sunday's win, with the pair both impressing in the comfortable victory.

"I don't think we entered the game really well, we gave them some chances and David did some great, amazing saves and that is why he is one of the best in the world," Fernandes told MUTV. "We should have controlled the possession better in the first half, especially in the first 15 minutes.

"After that, I think we got control of the game and obviously the second half, overall, it was much better than the first."

On Rashford's form, Fernandes continued: "It has been unbelievable for us. Obviously we want him to enjoy his moment and carry on because he has been really important for us.

"His goals have been a big part for us and today, again, it was amazing. Even sometimes when you think he is a little bit out of the game he can make his runs, go in behind people, outrun people and score because he finishes really well.

"We have to enjoy his moment and hope that he carries on with this because we have to serve him."
