Around nine cars were reportedly smashed up and keyed on the same night in one street.
Car owners living close to Newton-le-Willows train station have reported damage done to their vehicles, including smashed windscreens and scratches- believed to have been "keyed" in. One car owner said they even seen a man stood on top of one of the cars, smashing the windscreen.
Nine cars were reported to be damaged on Monday, September 19 and it was not the first time vehicles had been targeted in the area. Photos seen by the ECHO show several cars with smashed windscreens close to Newton train station.

One concerned resident told the ECHO they are "living in fear of whoever did this coming back." The car owner, who asked not to be named, said: "Us residents are on edge and concerned about our safety. It’s very frustrating, I've just finally had mine fixed yesterday and I’m on pins he will return this eve."
People in the area have said they have reported the incidents to police. Some of the streets hit by the vandals include: Park Road North, Park Road South, Mill Lane, Mercer Street, and High Street.
It is unclear if these incidents are connected.
