Cars bumping into each other 'all the time' at Nottingham busy roundabout

Hearing cars bumping into each other is a common occurrence at one of the 'busiest roundabouts' in Nottingham, according to the people living next to it. The junction of Hucknall Road and Valley Road is said to be a busy traffic spot, close to Bestwood.

The roundabout connects Hucknall Road with Valley Road and is also the major access point to the City Hospital. But the neighbours who live next to it said it 'can sometimes cause issues in the area'.

David Dakin, who lives on Valley Road, added: "You can hear a few bumps when it rains. When it snows you can also hear the bumps."

The 52-year-old added: "I do not think it is a massive problem. I do not think it is the roundabout, but the drivers. Many people seem to have issues with the roundabout when it snows or rains."

Geraldine Cesista, a nurse at the City Hospital, said that a driver has once crashed into her fence. The 33-year-old added: "There was an incident that happened two years ago. Someone crashed into our fence.

"It is quite often that you hear cars bumping into each other. It is a bit dangerous.

"You just have to be very cautious. We know for a fact that it is very dangerous.

"I think it is one of the busiest roundabouts in Nottingham. You can still hear the cars rearing during the night. I sometimes get woken up by the noise."

Andy Bailey, who has lived in the area for 15 years, added: "If you live on Valley Road you would expect noise. I think some people get confused after they changed the lanes.

"And then you also get the ambulances that put their sirens on. At busy times it gets very congested."

Another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, added: "A couple of years back we had a driver crashing into someone else's fence. It is busy, and a bit of a nightmare to be honest.

"It is not uncommon to hear cars bumping into each other. You hear it all the time, and also the sirens. I really want to move out of here."
