Which size cabin bag should I buy?
Brits looking for travel by plane should be aware that carry-on luggage is subject to size and weight restrictions on most UK and international airlines, and will vary by provider:
Ryanair cabin bag size
All passenger fare types include a small personal bag, which must fit under the seat in front of you and can measure no more than 40 x 20 x 25cm. Over-sized cabin baggage will be refused at the boarding gate, or where available, placed in the hold of the aircraft for an additional fee.
easyJet cabin bag size
All customers can bring onboard one small cabin bag which must not measure more than 45 x 36 x 20cm including any handles or wheels.
It includes items like a small trolley case, handbag, rucksack and laptop bag, but they need to fit under the seat in front of you. There is a maximum weight limit of 15kg as you need to be able to lift and carry the bag yourself.
Customers who like to travel with a large cabin bag measuring up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm, can book one before they fly and enjoy all the benefits of Speedy Boarding.
TUI cabin bag size
If you're taking a TUI Airways flight, you can carry one piece of hand luggage of up to 10kg for free but it can be no bigger than 55x40x20cm and you must be able to lift your hand luggage into the overhead storage compartments yourself.
If your luggage is heavier than your luggage allowance when you check in for a TUI Airways flight, you’ll need to pay an excess luggage charge.
Jet2 cabin bag size
Jet2 allows one piece of hand luggage for free per passenger, as long as it weighs no more than 10kg and is no larger than 56x45x25cm, including any wheels and handles.
If your hand luggage weighs more or is larger than this, it will need to be checked into the aircraft hold, and you may have to pay an additional charge.
British Airways cabin bag size
All British Airways passengers are allowed to carry one piece of hand luggage and one small item on board.
Hand luggage must not exceed 56 x 45 x 25cm and the small item must be no bigger than 40 x 30 x1 5cm and both items can weigh up to 23kg each.
