Damien Duff has added further to his forward ranks ahead of the 2022 season with the addition of former Shamrock Rovers striker Dan Carr.
The Trinidad and Tobago international returns to Dublin following a short-term spell with Welling United.
Londoner Carr parted company with the National League South side over the winter and, according to Duff, turned down several offers to pen a deal with the Reds.
Since leaving Rovers in 2019 for Apollon Limassol, Carr has had spells in Finland with RoPS and in India with Benguluru.
27-year-old Carr joined Rovers from Dulwich Hamlet in 2017 and scored 17 goals over two years with the Hoops.
His performance in the Europa League qualifiers against Apollon and impressed enough to tempt the Cypriot team into paying a transfer fee.
The striker returns to Dublin with six caps for Trinidad and Tobago under his belt, having first been called up shortly after leaving Rovers.
“I’m here to help Shels win as many games as possible. There’s great energy in the squad and I can see there’s no fear there,” Carr told the Reds media team.
“I’m looking forward to playing in Tolka Park and working with Damien, Joey, David McAllister and the whole squad and staff. I can’t wait to get going.”
Duff added: “I am delighted that Dan has chosen us over a host of other clubs. He knows the division which is important.
“He can create out of nothing and has an absolute edge to his game that I love. Dan has a massive hunger and desire for this season which is the reason he has settled so quickly.”
