CAROLINE Lucas has backed The National’s campaign to raise funds for vital aid in Gaza.
The former Green Party leader gave her support to our Medical Aid for Palestine fundraiser, which is aiming to raise £50,000 this week.
It comes as Gaza’s healthcare system is barely surviving, with fears it could collapse and kill more people than the conflict itself – with only 16 of Gaza's 36 hospitals currently operational and just 1822 hospital beds available, according to the WHO.
“With the Israeli authorities recklessly cutting off humanitarian supplies to Gaza, it’s more urgent than ever to ensure vital medicines and aid continues to reach those in desperate need of them,” she said.
“I’m pleased to back the National’s campaign to help save lives in Gaza now - please do contribute if you can.”
All money goes directly to this important charity, which is on the ground providing urgently needed medical aid and mental health support in Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Lebanon.
