Carol Vorderman wowed fans with her youthful looks on live TV, as she took cheeky swipe at Liz Truss earlier today.

Appearing on This Morning alongside her Celebrity Gogglebox pal Gyles Brandreth, the former Countdown star, 61, made a little dig about the soon-to-be former prime minister's short reign, as she and Gyles spoke with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary about etiquette.

This Morning viewers were seemingly more interested in how Carol looked during her appearance on the show, as they took to social media to muse if the star has had fillers in her face and remark on how youthful the popular presenter is looking these days.

As Carol looked stunning in the ITV studio, wearing a blush-pink jumper and her hair styled in loose waves, viewers mused on Twitter how different the star looks there days, with one asking: "What's Carol V done to her face ?"

"Carol's cheeks are so plumped-up," another added, as a third wrote: "#ThisMorning wow how different does carol look without all those filters she uses on her socials."

Following Prime Minister Liz Truss ' resignation yesterday, after just 44 days in office, ITV's daytime TV shows have been hijacked by all things political today - with Good Morning Britain speaking with Stanley Johnson and Lord Jeffery Archer about Boris Johnson's potential return to 10 Downing Street.

This Morning offered TV viewers some lighter segments earlier today, as Carol, Gyles, Dermot and Alison discussed how the art of saying hello to people is apparently a thing of the past.

"It all depends on how you say it," Carol explained as it was pondered if it is time to say goodbye to 'hello'.

Viewers remarked on how the star looks younger than her 61-years (ITV)

"It matters how you say it and your intention," the star continued, before cheekily adding: "In Liz Truss' case, it would be 'Hi...Bye!'"

In addition to This Morning, Carol and Gyles often delight viewers on Celebrity Gogglebox, following their debut appearance on the Channel 4 show earlier this year.

"So I'm making my debut this Friday 9pm on one of my favourite shows of all time and joining the @c4gogglebox gang....with my friend of 40 years @gylesbrandreth...." Carol told her Instagram followers in June as she revealed her big news.

"Watch this week and let me know if you agree....we're a bit vocal [laughing-face emojis]....no holds barred [laughing-face emojis]."

"Love G’box, love you…. so this is a must watch," presenter Gabby Logan quipped underneath Carol's update, with BBC weatherman Owain Wyn Evans adding: "I can already hear the laughing Mein CYNTAF dahling!! [love-heart emojis] xxxxxx lulululu."

Carol's Gogglebox confirmation came after fans originally thought the maths whizz was planning a return to Channel 4 show.

The presenter, 61, was a regular fixture on the Channel 4 show from 1982 to 2008, which she co-hosted with the late Richard Whiteley.
