Carol Vorderman slams Dominic Raab over Paul O'Grady name mistake

Carol Vorderman has slammed Dominic Raab after he got Paul O'Grady's name wrong in his attempted tribute. The Clifton resident called the Deputy Prime Minister a "bully" adding there was a "special place in hell" for him.

Raab was filling in for Rishi Sunak during Wednesday's (March 28) Prime Minister's Questions when he made the blunder. He accidentally referred to O'Grady as "Paul Grayson", leaving the Opposition stunned.

As reported by The Mirror, following Labour MP Sir Chris Bryant's touching tribute, Mr Raab said: "I totally agree with him, Paul Grayson was an incredible comic but he also...." He then grinned before correcting himself.

He added: "Paul O'Grady... But in terms of Lily Savage, also I think some of that comedy broke glass ceilings and broke boundaries in a way that certainly politicians would struggle to do, I agree with that. I also think it shows how we need greater, more rambunctious free speech, and we need to avoid the wokery and the limitations on comedy, which I'm afraid both of them would have had no time for."

Carol Vorderman immediately took to Twitter to react to the blunder. She said: "Name checking Paul O'Grady as 'Paul Grayson' in the House of Commons today For many reasons, I think there's a special place in hell for this bullying piece of...... Don't you?"

Her followers replied to her tweet as they seemed to be in agreement. One said: "Disgusting Tory tripe - well done on calling it out Carol."

A second wrote: "The nerve of invoking Paul O'Grady to try and further his 'anti-woke' nonsense. If anyone had compassion and wanted equality for all it was Paul.

A third put: "I love it when Carol comes with the fighting talk!" A fourth agreed: "I've never liked Raab, but this made my blood boil. Paul O'Grady will be missed. Unlike Raab."
