Carol Vorderman sets pulses racing with toned abs on holiday

Carol Vorderman has proved holidays are no time for slacking as she shows off her toned abs during a gym session in Portugal. The 61-year-old has been keeping fans up-to-date with all her outings while away, including paddleboarding, sightseeing, swimming, and the gym.

The former Countdown star turned heads on TikTok earlier in August after announcing she had joined the platform. Fans had to do a double take after her nude-coloured bikini left followers thinking she was topless.

Fans have been quick to make alternate suggestions to her desire to exercise so much while away - more on that here. Again however today, in a nude and purple sports bra paired with leopard print leggings, Carol flexed her arms to show off her gym progress after an upper body workout.

She said her new routines were inspired by entrepreneur Sarah Willingham, and TV barrister Rob Rinder. Looking very fresh-faced post-workout, the presenter posted on Instagram: "Spending a fair bit of time in the gym here....learning new routines thanks to @sarahwillingham and @robrinder too. BOOOMMMMM"

Fellow presenter Owain Wyn Evans, who spoke to WalesOnline about the possibility of him following Carol's footsteps onto Countdown, was quick to hype up his friend in the comments. He responded: "Wow wow wow wow! X", and his statement was echoed by Dame Kelly Homes, who said: "Wow looking so good."

Carol, who was born in Prestatyn, has also taken some time out while away to visit Fatima, a holy site for Catholic Pilgrims. She said: "Whatever your religion or thoughts on faith, there is no doubt that Fatima holds an incredible power to a visitor.

"My Mum was a strong Catholic, and I was brought up as one too. So along the side of the main plaza there are burning furnaces where you can light a candle and pray. I lit one for my Mum (who died in 2017) and one each for my two children Katie and Cameron. Meant a lot to me."
