Carol Vorderman says she's not looking for love again as she shares her big life goal

Former Countdown star and Welsh media personality Carol Vorderman has opened up on the most important goal in her life. It comes just weeks before she is set to appear on our screens once again in the brand new all stars special of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! which reunites past campmates in a jungle in South Africa in celebration of its 20th anniversary - she originally went on the reality jungle show in 2016. As well commenting on the "superpower" she gained after being "slagged off for 40 years" and recalling helicopters flying over her family home as well as photographers following every aspect of her and her kids' lives, she said: "One of two things happens. You either go under, which I will never do. Or it gives you a superpower."

She also revealed how she lives without apology and that her goal in life is to be happy, rather than "be in love" - whether that be with her five 'special friends' or regular friends.

Speaking to You Magazine, in which she also spoke of her podcast Perfect 10, she said: "'The goal of my life is to be happy, not to be in love. I just find people interesting and life interesting. And you can get to a stage where you choose which bits you enjoy. You can't in your 30s because you're making your way in your career, you're beholden to bosses and all those sorts of things. But in your 60s…"

Posting a snippet of a video she recorded for the magazine interview on social media, Carol 62, was seen on an olive green chaise longue and sporting a burnt orange velvet dress as she donned a brunette wig and answered questions live.

She said: "Summary: 'I have nothing to apologise for' The goal of my life is to be happy, not to be ‘in love’. Basically I’m a thick skinned little bugger who had a hard start & loves life, people, gym & laughing. Here’s a little Q&A that I did after our cover shoot Xx"

She added: "Question: Carol, what's the last thing you want to say today? Answer: I want to say thank you for everyone here today who's made a scruffy pensioner scrub up reasonably well."

During the video, which was posted on Instagram, Carol revealed that she first discovered her mathematical talents at the age of three and she went to nursery and was "a lot faster than everybody else".

She also recalled the first time she was on television and her first thought: "This is all a bit daft" as well as the first poster she had on her wall and her morning routine - drinking a cold glass of water before she evens "touches a toe onto the floor".
