Carol Vorderman says she is currently dating five 'special friends'

Carol Vorderman has shared more details about her love life as she discussed the number of men in her life.

The former Countdown presenter has previously spoken about lacking a conventional romantic relationship in her life. Instead, she says she has "special friends."

Now the 62-year-old TV personality has shared that she dates multiple men at a time. Appearing on Michelle Visage's latest Rule Breakers show, she discussed the "system" she put in place over the past decade.

When asked if she was in a relationship, Carol replied: "No. I'm having the best time.

"I've spoken about this once. I have a system which I've had for 10 years. They're called 'special friends'.

"I spoke a couple of months ago about having 'special friends' and it was like, again, the world had fallen in for some people but actually what I found was there was an awful lot of women who said 'I'd never thought about it like this'."

Despite not having a long-term relationship with just one person, Carol said she has been dating some of her "special friends" for several years. None of her partners have been one-night stands.

She said: "One's 11 years, one's seven years, you know everyone is single. It's a happy place. I hasten to add I'm not into one-night stands."

Carol has kept the identities of the men in her life a secret. However, she did admit that one of them works as an astronaut.
