Welsh TV presenter Carol Vorderman has never shied away from talking about openly about issues including the menopause (read what she had to say here) and children's education. Last year she honestly discussed her love life and how she has 'special friends' to have fun with rather than a long-term committed relationship. Now the BBC Radio Wales presenter has revealed she has five "special friends" who all know about each other.
Speaking on Michelle Visage's Rule Breakers Carol said she was not "committed to someone", was having "the best time", and was using her special friends system which she has used for 10 years. Carol has previously spoken about her special friends on ITV morning show This Morning.
She told Drag Race legend Visage: "Everyone is single, it's a happy place" and explained when people ask her if she has a partner, she replies: "No actually, I've got five!"

Carol detailed that she had been special friends with one person for 11 years, and one for seven years and also explained how she was defying the stereotype by having different partners. She said: “The language around a woman of particularly my generation when we were growing up, you know, if you’d had more than one partner before you got married you were this you were that.
“Everything was derogatory about a woman... everything was judgemental...You can take that and throw it out of the window! That’s my polite way of saying what you can do with that.” Carol has been married twice, first to Royal Navy officer Christopher Mather in 1985. However their marriage lasted just one year.
She later wed management consultant Patrick King in 1990 and they share two children – Katie, 30, and Cameron, 25. Carol and Patrick separated in 2000 and she dated journalist Desmond Kelly for five years before they split in 2007. You can listen to Michelle Visage's Rule Breakers on BBC Sounds.
